New Day Dawn is an American rock band whose music is "anthemic...with big, bold choruses.” This is due, in part, to the band's work with platinum-selling songwriter/ guitarist Chris Henderson (3 Doors Down), and John Moyer (Disturbed, Adrenaline Mob) who each produced tracks on their new release "Rise Above This." But this is mostly due to front lady, Dawn Botti's belief of doing "whatever it takes" to follow one's dreams. While she has very successfully juggled a career in law and her musical passion, sometimes people are not entirely supportive. Botti recalls a particular boss who asked her to quit music. "My boss thought I'd never be taken seriously as a corporate executive if I was also in a band, but I just don't believe that people are that closed minded. I have many passions and talents. Law is one of them and so is music! And in fact, I believe that I'm a better executive because of my creative side, and a better musician because of my business side!”

New Day Dawn is Dawn Botti on lead vocals and guitar, drummer Gary Szczecina (who is also Botti’s husband) ,guitarist PJ Angeloni, and bassist Elo Hernandez. Their second album, "Rise Above This" was released in March 2013. The album was produced by Chris Henderson (3 Doors Down) and John Moyer (Disturbed) and showcases Botti’s powerful, sexy and skilled vocals and songwriting. Greg Upchurch (3 Doors Down) and Bobby Capps (.38 Special) also make guest performances on the release.

New Day Dawn isn’t Botti’s first attempt at rock success either. Her previous band, Slushpuppy, received early airplay from Matt Pinfield on NYC’s K-Rock (WXRK 92.3FM), back when it mattered and regularly filled iconic venues like CBGB’s. Slushpuppy broke up in 2003. Shortly thereafter their bassist Cory Baker committed suicide. Determined to never quit, Botti started New Day Dawn which released their first full length album, The Company We Keep, in 2008.

“Rock and roll was originally music of the people. It came from a place of rebellion, a place of helping people question the status quo, and helping people question if what everybody else is saying is really the right way to live your life, or if there’s another way to live.” says Botti, and nobody embodies questioning the status quo, and finding another way to live, quite like her. After one listen to "Rise Above This", it’s clear Botti is a woman, and New Day Dawn is a band, you won’t want to forget.
